Abstract
Thomas Heinrich Stark:
Truth and Historicity
The Philosophical Presuppositions of the Theology of Walter Kasper
(FKTh 2015-3, p. 215–230)
The position, which Walter Kasper has taken at the Synod on Marriage and the Family on matters of sexual morality and sacramental ministry, has its roots in the philosophical foundations of his systematic theology, and especially in his concept of God. God in the theology of Kasper is not enthroned over history but historical himself. Therefor also truth, insofar as it has its foundation in the divine Absolute, becomes a processual historical event, and its proper understanding becomes dependent on an ecclesiastical consensus.
