The Dogmatic Content of the Angelic Apparitions at Fatima

The Marian apparitions of Fatima are prepared and accompanied by the apparitions of angels. This is true especially for the two cycles of apparitions 1915–16 and for the third part of the »secret« from July 13, 1917. The article summarizes the events reported by the historical sources. Then the dogmatic contents of some important aspects is analyzed, for instance the merits of Jesus and Mary for the redemption, the maternal mediation of Mary in Christ, the vicarious expiation and the missions of the angels.
