Rafael Hüntelmann:
New and Classical Hylomorphism
A Critical Discussion
(FKTh 2019-1, p. 32–49)

The following article contrasts the so-calied “new hylomorphism” with the classicai Aris totelian hylomorphism and tries to show that the new hylomorphism is not Aristotelian and has to deal with serious objections. This is particularly illustrated by the concept of matter. It is argued that the new hylomorphism is not able to analyze substances. In a concluding excursion. the significance of hylomorphism for the doctrine of transubstantiation is emphasized in a cntical examination of Robert Spaemann.
