The question of how a benevolent and almighty God can be compatible with the sufferance and evil in this world has been a continuous theme throughout the history of mankind and today is as relevant as ever. Karol Wojtyla having in his own life been confronted more than most people with terror, suffering and need yet was able to deduce some good even in evil. A systematic presentation of his autonomous and challenging approach is still missing and a project of further research.
