In addition to traditional pastoral care, which is committed to the magisterium of the Church and Catholic theology, in recent decades pastoral psychology has adopted psychological theories that are incompatible with Christianity. In contrast, this essay shows how a balanced philosophy and psychology can support pastoral care.
